September

Time flies so fast!  Allie turned a year in July, Mac 3 this month, Kaila 4 Oct 1, Riley 1, Oct 7 and Delaney2 Nov 12!!  Sydney and Kaila spent last night with us.  I just LOVE the night feeding when everything is so quiet with the little bitty ones...she's 3 months old and such a cutie..."talks" and coos even when she's eating!  We had two more funerals after Pepa's; and I just learned that a grade school, hs friend's dad died yesterday.  Guess it's the age we are.  We were so blessed to make it this long w/ all 5 parents alive.!!  God is good.  Now we're trying to get Mom (my mother in law) resituated, she won't be able to keep up their big house/yard. She wants to be in Austin which isn't the cheapest place to live.in fact..NOT!!

Helped my neighbor get ready to move (she actually moved to Dallas for work). Her house sold faster than they thought it would, but took about 6 weeks to close.  Hope she'll keep coming to see us! Now I need to have a big yard/garage/estate sale and was thinking maybe this coming weekend, but it's spose to rain Thurs and Fri. Might see about it later in the week. Lots of sorting before then anyway.

Finally got school work back up to par..kept needing to skip days/weeks.  Got in some new books we didn't have for the girls and we're on a roll.  then wisdom booklets still go on, too.  we made chemical elements flash cards..I didn't remember unununbium from when I took chemistry!!  LOL who made up those names?

Went outside the other day with the kids saying "Mommy, come see this!"  Buck (our blue heeler/australian shepherd) had a big hairy animal up the tree in the circle drive.  Kids swore it was a porcupine, but I didn't know they climbed trees!  We took pics, but I still didn't know...big hairy fur ball to me (w/o contacts!)  Then the next day we got home and he had it in the tree right by my car!  And sure enough, little scrunchy black face and long quills!...right up in the tree.  Next day it was gone...then back, and then we haven't seen it for a couple days now..must have moved on when we put Buck up.  Interesting!  I need to look up porcupines!!   We've had lots of possums, raccoons, ring tail cats, even a mountain cat (60 lb black), and emus!! oh, skunks, and armadillos of course..snakes (ICK) and lizards of various sizes, colors and shapes.  Guess we'll add porcupines to our list!

Loved the Mary Kay conference in Dallas and Papa and I are attending an area one in a couple weeks.  I've been trying to do a little more with it...more free facials, etc.  Love the Holiday stuff and the men's Domain is back for awhile...limited edition.

Don't know if anyone comes here or just goes to facebook now..but here's my monthly or bi-monthly post! :D to you!!

My Father in Law, Earl, died Sunday morning.  He was 89 and 2/3.  I've never funeral "shopped" before and I learned a lot.  Mostly that it costs so much!  And that you make more tears than you think you can.  And that family "comes" together for you...both physical family and church family.

It's okay that Pepa went home...he was really tired.  It wasn't the colon cancer that did it, they got it all out and it was contained.  It was pneumonia for the last 3 months....the meds just weren't fixing it.  The ventilator helped, but they told him he'd have to be on it forever, so he declined...I don't blame him.  At least there are medicines that make it easier than out right suffocation.  He held on til Momma released him to Jesus.  I've seen that happen so many times...we hang on to this life til it's OKAY to go...if we have the option.

I have 10,000,000 things to do and just want to ignore it all and curl up and sleep....i'ts my way of handling grief I think.  I'll have to get in gear and use my other "coping' device....hard work.  Got a trailer full of trash to load from my neighbor's house.  Then grandbabies to watch tonight.  Life goes on and it's Colie & Brenda's 4th anniversary today  yay for happy times.

We don't have work lined up and there are a stack of bills; but we know what's on for today, so I reckon that'll do. God provides daily bread, so we'll be thankful for that toDAY.  Tomorrow isn't yet and actually never gets  here...maybe that's part of what He was telling us...take no thought for the morrow...

I can't believe I haven't posted in FOREVER (well, a year!)  guess facebook slowed down xanga???

Hope you all had a Happy 4th...we did!  Just got home last night from a 5 day trip to OK.  Saw 80 relatives!!!  All 3 of my brothers were there...2nd time in 2 yrs!  (before that it was 14 yrs. and then before that was 16 yrs.!)  Sure glad Dan graduated from the Navy!

SURPRISE!!!

We did it!!  Colie turned 30 last Tues.  Papa turned 56 the Thurs. before (and Kalyn's 23rd was Thurs.)   So we had a dinner last Sunday for Papa and Colie and made it seem like "that was it."  Meanwhile, we had about 50 people invited for last night...a surprise.  It about got ruined (high-jacked) with another young couples' function, but my kids insisted lying is OKAY to pull off a surprise party.

Stan and Sissy called Colie and Brenda and told them they had reservations at a hard to get into Chinese place in SA.  (to divert them from the other function, it had to be good!)  They were going to meet here and drop off the babies.  Only, when Colie drove up he was going, "they're having a party, why wasn't I invited?"...it slowly dawned on him that he WAS invited...fine with him, he's not into Chinese food and was only going along for the company.  We had Tacos, his fave, and volley ball and chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate cake, but vanilla ice cream!  It was SO cool to finally pull off a surprise around here....y'know how hard it is in home-school families.  Even the guys at work could have spilled the beans since they're all "related."

Have a blessed Sunday!!
